가지 않은 길 - 나의 진로에 많은 영향을 주었던 시

The Road not Taken

                                                     Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
to Where it bent in the undergrouth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for the the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning eqully lay
In leaves on step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence;
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I......
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.

이 시의 마지막 문단을 처음 본 게, 중학생 때였던 거 같다.

남들이 잘 가지 않아, 길이 나지 않은 쪽을 선택했고

그 선택히 모든 것을 바꿔놨다는 글이, 꽤나 인상적이었다. '전인미답' 이라는 표현도 이 때 같이 봤었는데.

중학생, 자의식 뻐렁쳐 있던 시절에, 이런 글귀나 단어가 너무 "있어 보였"다.

 

그래서, 남들이 선택하지 않은 방식대로 사는 게, 좋을 것 같았고실제로 그런 선택들이, 지금의 나를 있게 해준 거 같다.
